This forum is where both SVME members and  have the opportunity to ask questions or have input. The overall goal is to increase quality of life. Veterinarians have a new outlet for professional consulting. Animal owners have a new option they may or may not choose to utilize. Animals including pets (through their owner's consultation) have access to increased veterinary knowledge. The veterinary profession has the opportunity to increase income to its members so that the best and brightest students can conclude that an investment in veterinary education is a good investment.

There is a saying, "The Devil is in the details." Therefore, this forum is a sounding board, both for "Devil's advocate" and supporter. Some related articles are attached.

    Dear Rolan and Colleagues,

I am delighted to join the Televeterinary Coalition!

My career, as a consulting oncologist, has always included remote consultations in the USA, Canada, South America, and Europe. One of the challenges is, after direct consultation with the patient carers, I must then communicate and work with their referring veterinarians. I must guide them to prescribe targeted anti cancer drugs that they often know very little about.

We try very hard to stay in compliance with the standard of practice code and the necessity to have the veterinary-client-patient bond for prescribing drugs.

It will be a worth while effort to set up official guidelines for Televeterinary Medicine for those who will be consulting on shared patients!
